Besides the products in our store, 3D-Miniatures.com has done freelance 3d modeling work for several manufacturers. From design to modeling and printing, we've done it all.
Aberrant Games, Warlands
Aberrant Games approached us to design several of their trucks and cars. Starting from a description of the vehicle desired, and looking to movies for various inspirations, we worked with them to give the vehicles the look they wanted. The first vehicle we designed for them was the Utility Truck.
The Utility Truck was later modified by adding a ram and armored topper with turret, creating the Rattler Gun Truck. Reusing the base model, and only printing the new Rattler parts helped reduce the time to market and expense for Aberrant Games.
Finally, we also designed the Maxwell Interceptor and its variants. Pictures will be coming soon.
Darkson Designs, AE-WWII
We modeled and printed the master for the Tumbleweed Tank based only on a lose description and illustration from a old Popular Mechanics. At each step of the design, previews were sent to Darkson for approval, so that changes could be made if needed. The model was designed hollow, and the side turrets and guns are flush fitting, allowing for a variety of poses. The nature of 3D printing allows for very precise fit and tolerances, even when the pieces are molded and cast in resin or metal.
